Vocal music has long been used as a powerful vehicle of solidarity and dissent. Here on VoiceBox, we’ll be taking a stand through song when Dr. Kathleen McGuire, founder and artistic director of the recently formed vocal ensemble Singers of the Street, a choir made up of homeless and non-homeless San Francisco-based singers, will join host Chloe Veltman in the studio for a discussion about the history and function of protest songs.
